Younique Fiber Lashes Review

WOW! What a week! I’m worn out, what about you? I’ve been super lazy today.. but didn’t want to get in my “I’m too tired to blog” mood.. that has historically destroyed every blog that I have ever started. So, today, we are going to talk about my favorite ‘spoil me’ item: Mascara.

Due to skin issues and a gluten allergy, I’ve been on the hunt for safer, more natural makeups. I’m hooked on Younqiue. So.. where we go, hang on!!!

Like most women my age, I cut my ‘makeup teeth’ on Maybelline. We all had that big pink mascara tube didn’t we??? Huge Brush, gave us the big lashes we wanted, gave us that look like liked!! We all made sure to get the waterproof so that our big luscious lashes wouldn’t end up down in our bras during the July heat! Those of us that are 80’s teens, we know our makeup!

As I got older and my skin became more sensitive, I had to start looking for other products. I’ve tried them all: Maybelline, Almay, Bare Minerals, Loreal, Avon, Mary Kay, you name it.. I’ve slathered it on my face and pumped my thin, invisible eyelashes with it!

With a little more maturity and curiosity, I started reading product labels and searching out ingredients. This is the ingredient list of the last mascara I used:

And here is the result with 3 coats (note to self.. I’m not good at selfies LOL)

This met a need.. until I wanted less chemicals and more lash. I am the type, If I was a celebrity and had someone come in and put on false eyelashes on me everyday. Sitting here, in my pj’s, with doggy on the front, I would have lashes so long that they would flutter against the computer screen while I type!!!

On to the next, and final product that I’m using. I’m sold. I found Younique Fiber Lash and I’m hooked!!! First thing I did was look at the ingredient list:

It is a 2 part system, so there are two ingredient lists:

Transplating Gel Ingredients: collagen, water, natural Propolis, Brazilian palm glue, Black iron oxide, Acrylic Copolymer, Nylon 12, Stearic acid, propylene glycol/emulsifier.

Natural fibers Ingredients: 100% natural fibers taken from the campanulaceae of green tea.

This is my second selfie with 2 coats of fiber lashes (yes, I know that you shouldn’t wear blue mascara with blue eyes.. but I was feeling a little hippish that day!)

Can you see the difference? Yes, my lashes are much fuller and longer.. but the thing I noticed is that the whites of my eyes are much brighter. These photos are not edited except to crop so that I don’t scare you to death with my whole face!  I’ve been using the Fiber Lashes for several weeks now, and cannot imagine going back to the other mascara.

I believe in this product. I can tell the difference in my pictures, but more than anything, I can tell the difference in how my eyes feel. I have no itching, burning or redness after applying the mascara.

For the remainder of this month, I’m running a special. If you buy the fiber lashes, you will get a free eye pigment mailed to you from me. I’m doing this because someone that is a negative nellie said that I couldn’t sell 10 sets of the fiber lashes. Hmm.. really. I think people that say stuff like that are really people that are afraid and don’t want to step out of their comfort zone to try something new. I say, take a chance.. what do you have to lose? The product is returnable if you don’t like it. Give the mascara away if you don’t like it and use the leather case as a eye glasses case…

So.. are you brave enough to take a chance???

Why I’m Throwing Away My Stilettos

I think I warned you in the beginning.. this blog will be about anything and everything. If it is on my mind, it is going to come out of my fingertips and pass in front of you.. (Hey, at least I tried to make the blog look pretty!!)

I have insomnia, plus I’m a workaholic, so.. I just rolled out of bed. It feels good to be able to get up on a Sunday morning at 10:30 am and not have to worry about feeding the kids, going to the grocery, etc.. I’m lucky, my daughter is an adult. She’s going to be 22 this week.

Anyway, I digress.. So, I woke up way past the time that I know my friends with little ones get up. I should feel great, I should feel ready to take on the world. But, oh no, my damn foot hurts. Why does it hurt you ask?? (oh, you didn’t ask, but I’m going to tell you anyway).

I have Haglund’s Deformity.. better known as a pump bump. I could show you some pictures (not of my foot of course LOL), but they aren’t what you would call Sunday morning brunch appropriate.

I figure most people know what a heal spur is and how it hurts on the bottom of your foot? Well, a pump bump is on the back of your foot.. it is where your  Achilles tendon connects to the heel. We wqmen, in our pursuit of what.. to be taller, prettier, sexier.. I don’t know, have been squeezing our feet into higher and higher heels, walking around all day long like we ‘got this’ and then coming home and limping through the house when no one can see us.

Sure, there are going to be some of you that say, I love my heels, my feet feel better when I where heels, etc.. and I believe you, because you have shortened the tendons in your feet and legs by wearing heels for so long. Those tendons protest when you try to go without the support they have become used to.

But I prefer not to put on high heels when I wake up on Sunday morning. They don’t look that great with my red flannel nightgown that has a puppy on the front of it, and for the moment, I have no intentions of putting on anything else today (I’m still on my first cup of coffee.. nothing major will happen until I’m at least on cup 4).

How did the bump occur? Years of wearing heels, shortening my tendon and the hard back of the heels rubbing on that bony area. Now I have a ‘bump’ and it hurts like hell. It has gotten to where it hurts all the time. I can go have it cut off.. but I’m not too keen right now on having carpentry tools near my foot.

I work in an office where i have to have a Dr’s note to wear sneakers. I’m getting that note on Tuesday.. I’m just done. I don’t care if I am short and fat.. putting on 5 inch heels just makes me a little taller and tat. Oh, and I can call myself fat, you can’t. Keep that in mind.

Do I really care what other women in the office think of my shoes? No.. I figure they are like me, they might notice a pair of cute heels, compliment the wearer and then move on to the next thing. They are not going home and thinking, “Damn.. Dana looked awesome in those shoes today!” They are more likely thinking, “Damn, my feet hurt.” I know their feet hurt, because I see them, and they see me, walking around late in the day with our shoes kicked under their desk. I see their bunions, I see their pump bumps, and I occasionally see that little limp that we all do.

In my Leonie Dawson Create Your Incredible Year Workbook and Planner, there are several pages about what I want to change, how I feel and what I want to do differently. I’m usually the slow one to catch on to hot stuff.. So I just bought the 2013 version.. but I have my gel pens and I just mark the 13 out and put in a 14.. this downloadable planner and work book is meant to be all messy and written on. So, I don’t think Leonie would care.. heck, she put it on clearance so i would be more apt to buy it. The art is amazing, very calming and soothing.. hand drawn and painted with soft beautiful colors. I just pulled it out and turned to the page where it has what I call the ‘real woman drawing’ of me. It is a simple drawing of a woman’s body.. soft hips, normal waist line, chubby thighs and a little duck footed.

It says: How my body feels right now. I pulled out my stampin’ up red riding hood pen and drew a line to my heel.. and I wrote, hurts like hell. I flipped the page to the next soft body drawing and it wants to know how I want my body to feel.. another red riding hood line was drawn and said “No Pain!”

How do I achieve that? Tossing those heels. It will be hard… I love them all. I have a lot of time, money and emotion invested in those shoes. But much like an abusive partner.. they got to go. I’m not promising that I’ll throw them all away today. My hoarding tendencies tell me to at least donate them.. but why do I want the curse of a pump bump to fall on another unsuspecting woman? Today.. I will get rid of one pair. One pair a day will help me cut that cord without crying over the garbage truck taking my shoes to the landfill tomorrow.  One pair in the trash per day.. I can do that.

Go ahead and check out Leonie.. she’s wonderful. She just wants you to be as beautiful as we all know you can be.

Take a chance.. we only get so many in this Younique Life of Ours!

I had an “Aha!” moment today.. I sell thirty one gifts in addition to Younique. My bestie buddy and I were at a celebrate and connect meeting and were awed by a Senior Executive Director telling her story of becoming a thirty one consultant and her path from starting as a consultant and working her way up to leadership. Her story struck home for many of us.. She started with the company 7 years ago. Thirty One (actually started here in TN!) is 10 years old.

I started thinking.. WOW to have the opportunity to start on the ground floor and grow as an individual and business woman with a new and rising star!!! What a dream come true.. then I came home and promptly took a nap. LOL (what can I say, I’m old and a girl’s day out makes me tired). When I woke up, it dawned on me.. I’ve done just that. I’ve started with Younique while it is still an infant on the market. It is estimated that Mary Kay has 2 million consultants and Avon has 5 million consultants.

When you sign up to become a consultant (or presenter as Younique calls us!) you are issued an ID number. That ID number coincides with the number you are as a consultant (for instance, I start a new company, my ID number is 1, my buddy (I’m picking on her tonight because I know she is asleep and I’m wired from my nap) signs up and she is consultant #2.. and so on.

You don’t go around telling everyone your number since that is your ID for the company, but here is what I can tell you.. I’m doing fabulous with thirty one, and my number is somewhere between 30 thousand and 40 thousand.

My presenter number for Younique is under 3000. WOW.. I’m one of the first 3000 people that stumbled on this company, tried their product and fell in love with it. I don’t think I can get much more ground floor than that!

Younique is all of the buzz words you hear.. hot, fast growing, up and coming, busting the scene, about to explode.. it is all of those things. It is the first company that I have come across that is seeing the new generation of customers for what they are.. they are tired of the chemicals, and they are busy, busy, busy.. they do their shopping online. They don’t have a lot of time for in home parties (which I LOVE doing with thirty one, don’t get me wrong). They stay connected to their friends, family and favorite products through social media. We text, we email, we tweet and we connect on facebook. That is why they encourage (yes encourage) you to have parties online.

They also understand that many of us need our commissions when we earn them. We have bills to pay and gas to buy.. so, with your first sale, you get an email from ‘payquicker’ that walks you through setting up an account. You commission money goes into that account daily, as a sales roll in, your commission rolls in. Within a few days of setting up your account, you get a Younique Debit Card in the mail. Not a credit card that is going to get you in trouble, but a debit card. Your commissions are loaded immediately, and you have access to that money immediately. No worrying about a bad check, a bad credit card, no worries, just money in your pocket. Go forth and spend my pretties!!!! Put the card away and have it as a secret savings account for that next vacation!! Hide the card from yourself and let it be your no hassle christmas fund!!! If you need your money now, you have it.. if you want to save it, you can.. and I’m not going to lie, I am in love with the purple card. Purple is my favorite color LOL!!!

So, for $99, this is what I got:

All 15 Shimmer Pigment Testers
All 15 Matte Pigment Testers
All 6 Concealer Testers
All 5 Blusher Testers
3D Fiber Lashes
Eye Brush Set
Website FREE for 3 months! ($30 value)
$10 in Younique Cash for both you and your sponsor!
Unlimited Virtual Parties
Presenter’s Guide
White Status Charm
$25 USD/$30 CAN in Younique Cash on your Birthday annually!
PayQuicker Younique bank account
All of this comes in the signature black leather Younique case

So this is the value of my kit (cause I have to be anal and make sure I get my money’s worth for everything LOL)
Pigments, concealers, blushers: $89
Fiber Lashes (full sized baby!!) $29
Eye Brush Set: $45
Website $30
$10 Younique Cash (money you can spend in your store!!) $10

and you also get catalogs and the case and the little things in life that make you smile. So, for $99, I got over $200 in products.. and I just wish my birthday wasn’t so far away!! LOL

Anyway.. back to my nap.. I woke up and I realized, I got in on the ground floor.. what does that mean for me? Where will I be in 7 years when the Younique presenter numbers are in the tens of thousands? Better yet.. what will my instant balance on my debit card be when I pull it out of the drawer I put it in when I leave out on vacation in a month. What will I do with it when I come back?? Will I put in in a drawer and leave i there for a year.. I think I might.

The next thing I did was look and see how many presenters there were in TN.. I counted twenty five.. hmmm.. not bad odds for me to be a little bit successful with this new venture…

So, I’m going to ask you.. if you had $99 and an opportunity to jump in on the ground floor of a company, would you? Would you do it it? I bet you would!

take a chance, take a journey with me, the worst thing that can happen is that you will have the best makeup kit you will ever own. That’s the very worst thing.
